About Us

Richards Restaurants, a beloved establishment with roots dating back to 1967, was founded by Don Strong in Bluffton, Indiana. It all began with the Snug diner and Embers Restaurant in Portland, setting the stage for Richards' growth into a network of five company-owned restaurants and one franchise across Northeastern Indiana. Our Bearcreek Country Event Center, commissary, and bakery contribute to our success, ensuring consistent quality through exclusive recipes and premium ingredients. For over 40 years, our mission has been to deliver good food at reasonable prices with a warm and friendly touch. As we enter the third generation of the Strong family leadership, we remain dedicated to serving our communities with our basic, down-home goodness. It's our pleasure to keep "Serving hot food hot and cold food cold," delighting families and friends spanning generations.
